Meet the Artist

N8than VanDeVelde

Nathan VanDeVelde is a Raleigh-based contemporary artist and installation designer whose work explores reflection, layered storytelling, and immersive spatial experience.

He received his BA in Contemporary Arts Practice from Bath Spa University in England, where his interdisciplinary training emphasized installation, conceptual development, and site-responsive work. His practice has evolved into a cohesive body of reflective and color-driven installations that bridge painting, sculpture, and architectural space.

VanDeVelde is the founder and director of VanDeVelde Gallery in downtown Raleigh, where he curates exhibitions, hosts First Friday events, artisan gatherings, and collaborative artist programming. His curatorial and spatial experience informs his approach to public work, considering not only the artwork itself but how people move through, interact with, and return to a space over time.

With each creation, Nathan delves into universal truths, aiming to unveil deeper understandings of our interconnected world. As a visual storyteller, he invites viewers to peek behind the veil and explore profound narratives embedded within each piece of artwork.
